Workshops
Bard Unbound's workshops are "theatrical", i.e., interactive and on-your-feet. They are designed to give students a basic introduction to Shakespeare, kick off the study of a particular play, or prepare students for more intensive study.
By getting Shakespeare's words into their mouths and bodies the "mystery" of Shakespeare is suddenly decoded and students are better able to make sense of the words on the page.
By getting then students to act out a condensed version of the play's action, these same students physically
"get" the plot/subplot(s) as well as the associated characters.
By the time we are finished, the students now have the tools and the motivation to jump into the play itself!
PLEASE NOTE - BECAUSE THERE ARE EXERCISES IN WHICH THE STUDENTS ARE ON THEIR FEET MOVING AROUND, IT IS NECESSARY TO CAP NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS AT AROUND 25.
